How to Set Up DIDs (Inbound Numbers)

DIDs (Direct Inward Dialling) are virtual telephone numbers assigned to the Ringingo account. When a customer dials a DID number, the platform is receiving the call and routing it according to the configured destination.

Navigate to DIDs

Go to Incoming Rules → DIDs in the left sidebar menu.

Create a new DID

Click + Create DID.

Fill in the fields

Field	Description
DID Number (required)	Enter the E.164 format inbound number exactly as provisioned by your carrier (e.g. +97145XXXXXX). This must match the number your carrier sends in the SIP INVITE “To” header.
Status	Enable to activate the DID for inbound call reception immediately. Disable to register the number without making it live.
Timeout	The maximum number of seconds to ring the destination before the call is considered unanswered and forwarded to a failover destination.
Codec	The audio codec to use for calls arriving on this DID. PCMA (G.711 A-law) is the default and recommended setting.
DID as Caller ID	When set to Yes, the DID number itself is used as the outbound Caller ID for callbacks and transfers initiated by agents handling calls on this DID.

Save the DID

Click Save.

After creating the DID, navigate to the relevant IVR, Ring Group, or Campaign configuration and assign this DID as the routing destination. A DID without a routing destination is accepting the call but has nowhere to send it, resulting in immediate disconnection.
